The bong & gong show featuring Nate Diaz & Dana White

By Zach Arnold | May 16, 2013

Print Friendly and PDF

While Dana was busy getting into Twitter wars with someone named Kandy Wilson over who looks uglier…

And…

Dana defended the UFC’s policy of taking away cash from Pat Healy:

Nate Diaz voiced his displeasure with the UFC over the cash confiscation:

Nate’s manager, Mike Kogan, responded with the following to MMA Junkie:

Kogan, however, defended Diaz’s choice of words. He did not advise the fighter to delete the tweet and advised his Twitter followers to look up the meaning of the word “f-g” in the Urban Dictionary.

“Nate voiced a personal opinion about an incident that took place involving Bryan Caraway in which he chased Dana all over Twitter to try to get a bonus, which was taken away from Pat Healy, got the bonus, and then had the nerve to go back out there and bash the guy and talk s–t about weed-smoking and how much he hates it and how it’s wrong, which was, at best, a s–t move on his side,” Kogan said.

“Guess what? The word f—-t, at least in Northern California, and where Nate is from, means bitch. It means you’re a little punk. It has nothing to do with homosexuals at all. So when Nate made the comment that he made, he didn’t make it in reference to homosexuals or calling Caraway a homosexual. He just said it was a bitch move.”

On top of this, the Nick Diaz Promotions web page was hacked last night with a message that stated: “Nick Diaz lost to Carlos Condit. Get over it.” In loud Times New Roman font.

Remember the UFC Fighter Summit where the company brought in a social media guru and encouraged the fighters to Tweet as much as possible in order to win bonus cash? How’s that policy working out for Las Vegas right now?

  1. Rob Maysey says:

    Real professional of Kogan.

This is who Diaz is taking advice from?

  2. Beau Dure says:

I’m often reminding people of the negative effects of marijuana, but really, I think the Diaz camp is doing that for me.

  3. 45 Huddle says:

    1) Pat Healy never had cash taken away from him. He won two awards based on certain future criteria. Healy did not match that criteria and therefore never got the money. Every fighter knows these rules before the fight. It isn’t even comparable to an AC fining a fighter and arbitrary amount. This was a special bonus that you need to be clean to receive.

    2) The UFC is forced to take action on Nate Diaz. If they did not, the sh!t storm they would get from the LGBT groups would be insane.

    3) Diaz’s manager is an idiot. Trying to justify it makes it worse.

    4) The Gracie camp really has bad people around them who do not give them good advice.

    5) Diaz’s comments were about Caraway, but some people took it to mean that he was talking about Dana White….

  4. Jon says:

Didn’t Nate recently go to Kogan for representation?

Sucks for Healy but everyone knows the rules with weed. If a guy wants to test them, they’re risking plenty of money. But, it’s all good as long as you can sell PPV buys Luke Nick Diaz.

    6) “Apologizing for what?” Kogan answered when asked if Diaz regretted the tweet. “He didn’t use that word in that sort of (homophobic) context. It’s a misunderstanding. If people are uneducated, that’s not my (expletive) fault. It’s slang for being a little b****. The guy goes on Twitter and chases (UFC president) Dana (White) down like a little f** instead of picking up the phone.”

This is how bad Diaz’s manager is. He actually uses the same word that got Nate suspended. You can’t even make this stuff up…

  6. […] Fight Opinion was the first to spot the website, and although it was initially reported to be a hack of Diaz‘s original site, it’s clearly an alternate URL meant to take a stab at Diaz fans. […]

  7. 45 Huddle says:

    Perhaps Zuffa reads FO….

Nate Diaz was fined $20,000 and suspended 90 days for his comment.

They specified that the money will be donated to charity.

No money grab here. I think they should do that for all fines. Give the money to charity….

    • Megatherium says:

This is actually a pretty reasonable, measured response from ZUFFA here, considering the atmosphere these days. I thought maybe Nate was a goner. I’m hoping to resettle on Little Corn Island, a small Nicaraguan island in the Caribbean with very few gringo tourists.

It’s this sort of thing that is catalyzing my imminent departure from our little dystopia. Hope to do some bonefishing. Brewers Lagoon on the Honduran Miskito Coast is another place I`ve looked into.

    • Safari_Punch says:

What is the charity that the funds are being donated to? Is there a documented charity that the UFC routinely gives to on a regular basis?

      • 45 Huddle says:

And if they tell people…. Then they will want to see the cashed check.

And if they see the cashed check…. They will want to see the accounting form of the charity to make sure it went to use.

And if they see it went to good use…. They will find some other way to question the UFC….

        Is this FOX News?

  8. Megatherium says:

Well Matt Riddle has just signed with Bellator; the pothead fighter migration to the company that doesn`t test is now underway, this has been in the making for a while now. Could Nate and Nick signings be just around the corner.

  9. david m says:

I see that Renan Barao is out of UFC 161. This is going to really destroy the buy rate of the ppv, given Barao’s massive following (sarcasm). I hope UFC makes Hendo-Rashad a 5 round fight now as the new main event.

  10. RST says:

“…encouraged the fighters to Tweet as much as possible…”

Its the most instantly gratifying way to fuel a soap opera ever invented? And isn’t that what mma is in the new normal? Nate Diaz is the talk of the town. Maybe they should be giving the bonus to Nate Diaz.

BTW: Shame about Rockhold. I think he underestimated the pressure of being surrounded by an entire stadium of Brazilians on TRT.
